Breast-feeding article

"The lives of nearly 900 babies would be saved each year, along with billions of dollars, if 90 percent of U.S. women fed their babies breast milk only for the first six months of life, a cost analysis says." Check out the article here.

Car nap

Right now I'm sitting in the car while Noah naps in his car seat. Usually I leave the windows down and sit in the drive way but it's too freakin' hot today. Had to leave the AC on for him. Not complaining though....woohoooooooo for warmth!!! I'm ready to go to the pool.

YAY April!

So glad Spring is here! We met China at the park today and it was 88 degrees! Noah was PISSED the whole time. I think he got hot and then spiraled down hill quickly. We ended up only walking one lap because he refused to sit in his stroller. Which meant I had to carry him. And I didn't use the Ergo cause it would have made us both sweat like pigs. Talk about a work out. Feel like I ran a few miles. We're gonna try again tomorrow.

Noah and I went to our first play group last week at Jill's house. It was fun...there were three other little boys who were 15-19 months. They were all running around and stealing Noah's toys but he was so in awe of them he didn't even care. Cutetimes.

Last weekend we went to a cloth diapering workshop and an Easter egg decorating party. I also took Noah to my cousin's house for a craft tea party. He got to meet four month old Ava and they had their first kiss (on the cheek). :)

Also, my baby genius peed in the potty eight times yesterday!!! I think I've created a monster, though. He can't stand to be in a wet diaper now. Makes things tough when we're out and about. Ah, well.

And here's a pic from his 6 month photo shoot with Julie:

Philly

Last Friday Noah rode his first bus, train, and airplane. My mom and I took him with us to Philadelphia for my cousin's baby shower. He was amazing! No crying on the plane :) And it was fairly easy traveling with him...I took his diaper bag, my purse, and we shared one small suitcase. No stroller, pack 'n play, car seat etc needed. Wore him around the airport in my Moby Wrap. And he slept with me as usual. Our rental car had a big boy (forward-facing) car seat. He really enjoyed that. At one point he got fussy in the car so I just leaned over to nurse him. Not comfy but it made him happy!

When we got into town we headed over to my Aunt Janet's place for dinner. She made a delicious corn chowder and Noah LOVED it. He kept begging for more. Didn't seem to upset his tummy at all, but I didn't actually give him any pieces of corn. Just broth and potato.

We stayed with my mom's awesome friend, Louise. She's currently house sitting for a couple who owns this old big house across from a golf course. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves which was very...interesting. lol the whole floor (ceiling and walls) was covered in paneling. Except the bathroom. That was all green tile, including the ceiling. Funny. Her daughters and grand kids came over one night for dinner and Noah couldn't take his eyes off them. So cute.

The shower was on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. Rachel got so much great stuff. She's well equipped for her little boy. Later that night we hung out at my uncle Andy's house with his five daughters and two year old grandson, Rowan.

We tried to come home on Monday but got bumped off our flight. Could have taken an evening flight but Noah usually has a melt down around 7:00 and we didn't wanna risk it. So we checked into the Marriott :D With no luggage. Bought tooth brushes and then ordered room service. Eating key lime pie in bed while nursing was awesome til I dropped a strawberry on Noah's face. Pissed him off! Oh well, lol.

I got some really cute pics of him sitting in his own seat on the airplane reading a magazine. Just gotta figure out how to get them off my phone...

YAY March!

SOOOOOO glad it's finally March. The weather today was beautiful. Didn't even wear a jacket. Of course it's supposed to snow tomorrow. Typical. Anyway, my mom and I took the babe to Babies 'R Us today and I got this tree decal to go above his changing table:

So easy to put up! And adorable, too.

Also got Noah his first laptop. I think he's in love....

Yesterday I held him over the potty and he peed. I'm sure this first time was a coincidence but I was still proud, lol. He also joined us at the dinner table and had a few tiny bites of pork, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and apple sauce. At one point he picked up a piece of broccoli, put it in his mouth, and started chewing (well, more like gumming). It was the cutest thing. I'm really loving baby-led weaning. Too lazy to deal with purees and this is more fun for Noah anyway. Plus he's learning a lot.

Oh, and on Saturday I left Noah with Brian for multiple hours for the first time. I took a three hour breastfeeding class for my doula training. So much fun! But Brian said it was rough and he doesn't know how I handle staying home with him every day. Heh.
